Divya Alter
Divya is the chef and co-founder of Bhagavat Life and Divya's Kitchen. Originally from Bulgaria, she has more than 35 years experience studying, practicing, and teaching Indian spiritual philosophy, yoga, Sanskrit chanting, and vegetarian cooking throughout Europe, India, and the US. Divya is a certified nutrition consultant and educator in the Shaka Vansiya Ayurveda tradition. She is the author of What to Eat for How You Feel and Joy of Balance.
Nidhi Pandya
Nidhi is a classically trained Ayurvedic doctor and global wellness leader, having spent over two decades making Ayurveda relevant for modern living. Inspired by her grandfather, a renowned Ayurvedic healer, she bridges ancient wisdom with practicality from her base in New York City. Her book Your Body Already Knows, to be released in March 2025, exemplifies her mission to blend ancient healing with modern wellness.
Simon Timm
Simon is a mindfulness and meditation teacher who spent sixteen years as a Hindu monk. When he left monastic life, he embarked on a journey of psychological integration and set out to develop a way to use the powerful space created during meditation to resolve negative feelings—rather than just lift above them. He outlines that process in his book: An Introduction to the Self Salutation. Simon has a Masters in Religion from Yale and lives with his spouse Allyson in Washington, DC.
Susan Hu
Susan is an expert in the field of therapeutic yoga, having supported thousands of students and clients since 2016. Susan is a Bhakti Center yoga board member and senior lead teacher, and she also happens to be Divya's favorite yoga teacher. She is committed to making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of societal labels. With over 2,000 training hours, she offers a wide range of yoga styles and meditation techniques; emphasizing nourishing, grounding, and uplifting practices with a focus on breathing and the relationship with the Self.
