Join Ellen Scordato—co-­founder of Stonesong Press, author, and meditation teacher—to gain momentum in your personal writing practice and projects by learning holistic approaches to enhance your ability and inspiration. Explore specific meditation and writing exercises that bring awareness to what grounds, balances, and inspires your creative writing practice. There will be plenty of time to write.

Teacher: Ellen Scordato

Ellen Scordato has been a partner in the Stonesong Press, LLC, a literary agency and book production company, for more than a decade, and has worked in commercial trade book publishing for 30 years. While working full­time at Stonesong, she is also the author of three nonfiction books for young adults and was an adjunct in the English Language Studies department at The New School for ten years, where she taught two undergraduate courses in the evenings: Structure and Usage of English Grammar and Fundamentals of Copy Editing, as well as a rotating variety of continuing and professional education courses, including The Good Sentence and Punctuate! She continues actively tutoring private writing students. A former board member of the Interdependence Project, she is a 2014 graduate of the IDP Meditation Teacher training program as well as a 2008 graduate (200­hour certification) of the Om Yoga Teacher Training program.

Teacher: Lisa Weinert

Lisa Weinert is passionate about the power of storytelling to heal, reveal and transform lives. She has worked with hundreds of award-winning and bestselling authors as an editor, publicist, and literary coach and I am the founder of Narrative Healing, a mindbody approach to storytelling that helps writers (re)connect to their bodies, and feel empowered to launch their work into the world. She is also a yoga teacher certified in restorative, therapeutic and trauma-informed yoga.  Her career journey includes ten years at the Knopf / Doubleday group at Random House, and faculty positions in the writing programs at Wesleyan University, Omega Institute, and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. She is committed to empowering authors with the tools to create and launch their work in a holistic way. This fall she launched an online community called The Narrative Healing Community to create a creative container for like minded writers, foster deep conversations and meaningful connections. She believes there is powerful life-changing medicine in our stories that can heal us personally and as a society.
