Hormonal Balance Through Gut Health
An Integrative Approach to Digestion, Metabolism, Stress, and Food
A 2-Part Online Workshop | September 12–13, 2026 | 10 am–1 pm ET | 6 hours
All registered participants will receive access to the workshop recordings and class materials.
We often think of digestion, hormones, metabolism, stress, and skin health as separate issues. But modern science is increasingly showing us something Ayurveda has understood for thousands of years: these systems are deeply interconnected.
Your gut does much more than digest food. It communicates with your brain, liver, metabolism, reproductive system, and even your skin, influencing hormones, blood sugar, appetite, stress response, and how you feel every day.
In this two-part workshop, Dr. Niveditha Shrinivasamurthy and Divya Alter bring together modern science, Ayurveda, and practical food wisdom to help you better understand hormonal balance—and how to support it through the way you eat and live.
Part 1:
Understanding the Gut-Hormone Connection
With Dr. Niveditha Shrinivasamurthy
September 12, 2026 | 10 am–1 pm ET
All registered participants will receive access to the workshop recordings and class materials.
Hormonal changes can show up in many ways—in our energy, mood, sleep, appetite and cravings, weight, menstrual cycle, thyroid function, digestion, skin, hot flashes, and response to stress.
Dr. Niveditha will help us understand how the gut connects many of these experiences. We'll explore:
The gut–brain–stress connection and how stress and cortisol can affect digestion, sleep, energy, and hormonal balance
GLP-1, its role in appetite, blood sugar, and metabolism, and why medications such as Ozempic® have brought attention to this important gut-hormone pathway
The gut–estrogen connection and its relevance to PMS, PCOS, perimenopause, and menopause
How gut health relates to blood sugar, insulin resistance, liver health, metabolism, weight, and skin
Circadian rhythm and why when we eat, sleep, and rest matters for hormonal health
Ayurvedic perspectives through agni, Samana Vata, Apana Vata, Rasa, and Rakta
How ultra-processed foods, emulsifiers, and microplastics may affect gut, metabolic, and hormonal health
You'll come away with a clearer understanding of why hormonal balance isn't about one hormone or one organ, but about supporting the relationships between many systems in the body.
Part 2:
Food for a Healthy Gut and Hormonal Balance
With Chef Divya Alter
September 13, 2026 | 10 am–1 pm ET
All registered participants will receive access to the workshop recordings and class materials.
Once we understand these connections, the practical question is: What do we eat?
Divya will bring the science and Ayurvedic principles into the kitchen with practical foods, spices, herbal preparations, and recipes that can support digestion, metabolism, and hormonal balance.
We'll explore:
Polyphenol-rich foods, including berries, tea, olive oil, spices, legumes, and nuts
Light but nourishing sources of plant protein
A culinary "world tour" of fermented foods—from kanji, dosa, and idli to kimchi, miso, kefir, sauerkraut, and yogurt
Traditional Ayurvedic preparations including ash gourd juice, Date Tonic (kharjura mantha), and Grape Tonic (draksha mantha)
Ashta Churna and how this classical digestive spice blend is traditionally used with meals
Shatavari and its traditional role in supporting women's health
Practical recipes and ways to bring these principles into your everyday meals
The goal isn't to give you another long list of foods to avoid. It's to help you understand how to eat in a way that supports your digestion and hormonal health.
