Enrollment Details

This workshop is for anyone who would like to explore yoga, breathing, and sound, with an emphasis on harnessing the power of our breath.

The experiential practices we do will help you discover how to

  • become aware of your breath and breathing patterns;

  • initiate movement by focusing on the intrinsic micromovements of inhalation and exhalation, thus facilitating ease in physical movement;

  • play with the breath in various techniques and ratios to create different relaxing and/or focused states of mind;

  • use breathing in combination with sound to help make the breath 'audible;' and

  • use mantra as a manifestation of breath and life-force to direct your mind in a chosen direction.

This yoga and Ayurveda workshop is suitable for all practitioners, from the beginner to long-time student as well as the experienced yoga teacher. The needs of individual practitioners are taken into consideration, and alternatives are offered when appropriate. Throughout the workshop there will be time for discussion and questions, and handouts will be available to facilitate practicing the learned tools at home.
